Adaptive Yoga for Teens and Young Adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
We are pleased to offer a specialized yoga class designed to address the needs of teens and young adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This gentle class combines breathing techniques, yoga poses and relaxation in order to calm your child’s nervous system thereby improving overall health. Participants must be able to follow group instructions, verbally communicate and independently transition from sitting to standing. A parent or caregiver is invited to participate in class to both receive the benefits of yoga and to learn techniques to better support their children.
Parent and child should bring their own yoga mat. Some yoga mats will be available to borrow. No yoga experience necessary.
