Greenwell Foundation Horsemanship Camp

Connect with Greenwell Foundation’s beloved herd and try something new! This camp is designed specifically for those new to everything equine who would prefer a gentle introduction to horses before getting in a saddle. Campers will be acquainted with horses literally from the ground up with lessons in the basics of horse care including grooming, leading, interpreting horse communication, understanding herd dynamics, feeding, and tacking up horses. As they build confidence, they will also practice beginning riding skills on the ground. On the last day of camp, campers will have the opportunity, if they choose, to mount a horse and be led around the arena for their first horseback riding lesson. If your child has an interest in horses and wants to experience them up close and personal, then this camp is a great place to start!

Examples of Horsemanship Camp Activities Include…

  • Introduction to our herd of horses
  • Horse Safety
  • Grooming & Horse Care
  • Pony Painting
  • Horse-themed Crafts
  • Tie-dying and S’mores
  • And more!
