Join us to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) in an outdoor setting! STEAM in the park will include STEAM inclusive and nature inspired activities, experiments, demonstrations, games and more during a 1 to 1-1/2 hour session at Greenwell.

Lessons will be designed to fit your child’s educational needs. Examples of potential content include:

  • Outdoor engineering activities (building bridges with found nature materials, learning about how beavers dam rivers and streams, rocket building, solar s’mores, etc)
  • Physics in the outdoors (force and motion, how water flows, generating waves, fun with gravity, energy transfer, etc) 
  • Life science (identification of animals, animal tracks, learning about trees, flowers, and native species, how things grow, etc)
  • Chemistry in our natural world (states of matter, chromatography, pH, modeling atomic structure, etc)
  • Where science and art meet (learning about colors, rain painting, art with found nature materials, etc) 

$20 per child for 2-10 children. An adult must be present at all times. Adults are free!

How to dress, what to bring and what to expect

Please wear closed toed shoes (crocs/keens/water shoes/old sneakers) and clothes that can get wet. Please bring a water bottle. Bring sunblock and bug spray if needed.
