Greenwell Foundation is dedicated to Veterans and First Responders, offering free programs and Recreational Wellness Retreats with therapeutic benefits.

Our recreational programs are designed for anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors in an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment. Greenwell Foundation’s certified instructors and skilled guides will tailor your experiences to your needs, interests, and goals. Our location inside Greenwell State Park provides the perfect setting for a variety of outdoor activities and experiences.

Our Programs

Horse Connection

Foster horse and human connections on the ground before riding.

Nature Activities

Paddle the Patuxent River or experience a guided hike.

Trail Rides

Explore the scenic park trails on a walking-pace horseback ride.

Recreational Wellness Retreat Program

Our Recreational Wellness Retreat Program is FREE to Veterans & First Responders thanks to our generous partners and sponsors.

These retreats provide quality outdoor recreational programs with therapeutic benefits to help participants better connect to themselves, nature, and to each other. These retreats are offered for groups of 10-16 participants.

Activities can include…

Horse Connection
Guided Nature Activities (hiking, kayaking, etc.)
Wellness Activities (yoga, stress-breathing exercises, etc.)

Participants can enjoy the outdoors in an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment. Our skilled instructors will insure that the activities are tailored to fit the interests, goals, and needs of your group.
